The Women’s Fellowship held their final quarterly meeting of the year on
September 15th. A cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs was enjoyed by
both the Women & Men’s Fellowships. The women have enjoyed having
our quarterly meetings with the Men’s Fellowship this year, this has allowed
for great fellowship and well as an opportunity to unify both groups on joint
projects. The women are supporting the Operation Christmas Child project
by paying the shipping charges on 25 boxes. Roman Shades have been
purchased and installed on the parlor doors in the fellowship hall. The 2008
shipment of pecans is due in on October 23rd, the price for the plain will be
$8.00, and the chocolate will be $7.00. The Candle Tea will be held on
December 6th from 9:30 – 2:00. The opening program will begin at 9:30,
we are asking for all volunteers to be at the church by 9:00 and to park in
the rear of the church. We will use the coat rack in the downstairs hallway
for our coats to allow more space in the upstairs hallway for our guest.
If you are able to volunteer and have not signed up there is a sign up sheet
in the rear of the church. On Sunday November 30th we will set up the
fellowship hall and other areas in the church for the Candle Tea. Everyone
is invited to join us at 5:00 pm, dinner will be provided. The sugar cake,
buns, and cookies will be purchased from Winkler’s Bakery this year.
There will be raffle tickets available before the Candle Tea as well as the
day of the Candle Tea. The cost of each ticket will be $1.00; there will be
three prizes –
Winner 1 – 5 Chicken Pies / Winner 2 – 5 Chicken Pies / Winner 3 – 1
large Moravian Star. The annual Women’s Fellowship Christmas Dinner
will be held on December 9th, all ladies of the church are invited to attend.
This is a wonderful time to relax after the hard work of the Candle Tea, to
celebrate the accomplishments of the year and to rejuvenate in preparation
of the upcoming year. We will enjoy good food and fellowship and of
course our gift exchange. Please put the date on your calendar, details will
sent out in November. The officers for the 2009 will be: President Myrna
Webb, Vice President Faye Grose, Secretary Daisy Joyce , Treasurer
Anna Martin.
